About Sweetpotato Knowledge Portal

Read about how to use the portal from Users guide

This is a collaborative project where sweetpotato professionals and scientists come together to share, discuss, and generate new knowledge. Our aim is to provide easy access to all the technical and scientific knowledge on sweetpotato in the world, and by doing so we will improve the nutrition and food security of millions of people.

Who is behind the portal?

The Sweetpotato Knowledge Portal is supported by the International Potato Centre, CIP, and by the
Sweetpotato Action for Security and Health in Africa (SASHA) funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation. We add all the knowledge products we have to the portal, and we encourage you to do the
same. You can add copyright or license restrictions for the use of your knowledge on the portal, but as a
general rule we encourage the contributions should be considered global public goods where the users
give due recognition of authorship.

Who made this portal?

Jens Riis-Jacobsen, the data manger in the SASHA program had the original idea, and made the general
conceptual design with the help of numerous sweetpotato scientists.

Jussi Savolainen, the CIP web master, developed the idea further and implemented it using Plone

The graphical design was made by Jose Torres from the CIP Communications unit.

And the content has been added by all the members.
